Few weeks ago I did a little research on computer prices and how their prices differ in concrete shop places. I found out that there are even bigger differences than I would ever think. Thousands of people are buying new laptops in "real shops" daily. Average laptop price in these shops is around $500 and average laptop price on the internet is $300. The truth is that each laptop you can find "in reality" you can find 30-40% cheaper on the internet. Why? It is so because internet shop owners do not have to pay such big costs for staff and rent. Therefore, these sellers can sell laptops much cheaper later. This is how it works. So why we are still buying computers on the places where they are so expensive? I have no idea but I would like to change it. The price is not the only advantage. On the internet you can find much greater choice than anywhere else. What kind of laptops you can find on the internet?
1. You can buy brand new one. Brand new laptops on the internet usually cost from $200 to $2000. New laptops are, obviously, the most expensive option. Some people are afraid to purchase expensive stuff through the internet. In addition, depreciation value is much higher for new laptops. It means that new laptop bought today would have maximally 40% of its original value in one year. Buying brand new laptops is not always the most efficient way.
2. You can buy refurbished one. Many people even do not know what refurbished laptops are. Refurbished laptop is used but reconditioned and repaired laptop. They are often sold for very good prices on the internet. Price usually ranges from $100 to $500. In most of the cases you can find them in "laptops under 300" column. What is great about refurbished laptops is that you are not saving only your money but also our planet.
3. You can buy used one. Used laptops are the cheapest way of laptop purchase. There are available used laptops even for $50 but you can find also used laptops for several hundred dollars. You should be careful while choosing used laptop. There are some people who try to make money on you. On the other hand, used laptops have one big advantage. Their depreciation value is near-zero. If you are very good seller you might be able to sell your laptop for the same price you bought it or even higher. Be aware that if you are looking for laptops under 200 dollars, you will find used laptop most likely.
These are three main groups of laptops you can purchase nowadays. It is just up to your priorities and requirements what kind of laptop to buy. If you can afford to spend thousand dollars for brand new laptop go ahead but if you cannot you should look for some refurbished or used laptop. Anyway, look for it on the internet and save few hundred dollars!
